Which cryptocurrency am I allowed to give away?
Currently, the Gifting Crypto feature only takes bitcoin (BTC). Gifters may send bitcoin from their trading balance, and more cryptocurrency is on the way.
What is the cost of distributing cryptocurrency?
There is no additional transaction fee when gifting BTC using Gifting Crypto.
Who may profit from Crypto Gifting?
Everyone who has properly authenticated their Moonpay account in Singapore or Hong Kong has a bitcoin trading balance.
What if the recipient does not yet have a Moonpay account?
To send bitcoin to the receiver, the gifter does not need to be a current user. To access the donated bitcoin, however, the receiver must first register a Moonpay account. If the receiver does not register an account or fails to fully confirm their account within 30 days, the gift will be reimbursed to the gifter's trade balance.
What is the duration of delivering my gift?
The recipient will be informed when the gift has been delivered. When the recipient successfully redeems the gift, the supplied amount will be credited to their BTC balance. It may take up to 15 minutes for the total amount to be reflected after redeeming the gift.
What if I'd like to contribute but don't have any bitcoin?
You may only give bitcoin that is currently in your trading balance. You will be able to link a bank account and deposit money into your Moonpay wallet to acquire bitcoin when you have authenticated your Moonpay account.
How does the recipient redeem the gift?
Moonpay will send the gift details to the recipient via email. They may redeem the gift if they already have a Moonpay account associated with that email address by clicking on the link in the email and signing in.
